On September 12 and 13, 134 gardens in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will open their gates to the public. The historic garden at the Papenhof Museum in Barth is among them: Explore the gardens for free and join a guided tour at 2 p.m. each day.

The “Open Gardens in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” initiative invites garden lovers to discover 134 special gardens throughout the state. Private garden paradises, lovingly designed landscapes, and historic gardens open their gates, offering a glimpse into the diverse garden culture of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The historic garden at the Papenhof Museum in Barth is also participating in the event. Visitors can explore the garden grounds on their own on both days, discovering historic garden features and special details along the way.
Those who would like to learn more about the garden’s history and design can join a guided tour at 2:00 p.m. on both days or use the information panels to explore the gardens spanning the centuries on their own.
