Sabine Mangold is exhibiting artistic ceramics at the Kunsthaus Lübz
Clay is earth—malleable, vulnerable, and open to every mark. Only when subjected to fire does it change its state and take on a lasting form. For Sabine Mangold, this transformation is not merely a craft process, but the starting point for her artistic ceramics.
She creates sculptures, reliefs, and ceramic installations. Her focus repeatedly turns to the human figure and organic forms: to bodies, heads, and movements that seem familiar yet elude a clear narrative. Works such as “Metamorphosis” or “Woman Without a Head” already convey their tension in the title. In some works, Mangold combines glazed ceramics with wood or Baltic Sea granite. Smooth and rough, shaped and natural materials interact with one another.
As early as 2025, Sabine Mangold exhibited ceramic art and paintings at the Kunsthaus Lübz. Now she is once again part of the LUPINALE. Her works speak directly to the theme “Turning Point: Upheavals and Glimmers of Hope”: Each ceramic form has undergone a transformation—shaped under pressure, transformed by fire, and yet still marked by the memory of its original state.
On view from September 18 to October 17, 2026, at the Kunsthaus Lübz. The opening is on September 18 at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.
