A dance production for all those who do not accept forgetting. Political education with the means of dance!
The horrific Nazi crimes against humanity have long been inscribed in the history books, but have we really come to terms with them - personally, socially? The Holocaust is forgotten, even repressed and lost in abstraction - without personal encounters with contemporary witnesses or visits to memorial sites. Together with the choreographer team Stefan Hahn / Rafaela Molina, the dancers of the Perform[d]ance youth company are launching a search for a new culture of remembrance with this production that opens up spaces for emotions - activist, broadening the view and hitting deep into the core. Dance can address situations that trigger speechlessness and emotion in a special way and captivate the audience.
The remembering dance body enters into situations of raw violence, into moments of rebellion, of resistance, of simply being human. Amidst the violence, there are flashes of movement motifs from the 1940s from swing and ballroom - elements from dance history that have survived to this day.
A dance production for all those who do not accept forgetting. Political education with the means of dance!
