On 12.08.2026, the port of Wieck a. D. will become a jazz stage: a special project pays tribute to the legendary Nina Simone. Singer Myra Maud - an internationally acclaimed soloist - gives the songs new radiance in an idyllic setting right on the Bodden.
On 12.08.2026 we are expecting a very special jazz project at the harbor of Wieck a. Darß, dedicated to the legendary pianist and singer Nina Simone. She made music history with her worldwide hit "My baby just cares for me" and was an exceptional artist, just like Myra Maud. The young jazz singer was born in Paris, has roots in Martinique and unites the most diverse cultural influences in a unique way. As a soloist, she has worked with the Orchestre National de France and the symphony orchestras of Nashville, Detroit and Dallas, performed alongside Céline Dion, Enrique Iglesias and Marius M. Westernhagen and had the honor of singing for the legendary Quincy Jones. Myra Maud is bringing very special musicians with her to Wieck: pianist Lutz Krajenski. He was the former musical director, pianist, arranger and bandleader of the legendary Roger Cicero, as well as Hervé Jeanne on double bass and drummer Leon Saleh, who has worked with Nils Landgren, Till Brönner and the NDR Big Band. "Music is a powerful way to express yourself and change the world," says the band's press release. So you can look forward to a better world after this very special evening.
Note: Parking is available at the Darßer Arche (5 min walk to the harbor), dogs can be brought on a leash, seating is available
