750 Years of St. Nikolai Church in Stralsund and Open Monument Day As part of the 750th-anniversary celebration of the Gothic brick church in Stralsund, the brass quartet “BackSteinBlech” will perform music spanning seven and a half centuries—a fitting tribute to the occasion.
“BackSteinBlech”—the name of this brass quartet—is a tribute to the brick church of St. Nikolai and, of course, a reference to the instruments they play. The repertoire of these four outstanding musicians ranges from traditional church music to jazz. The ensemble consists of Matthias Pech on trombone, Johannes Pilgrim on trumpet, Ekkehard Wohlgemuth on trumpet, and Thomas Rettensteiner on trombone.
