Movie Time in Malchow

When Mina’s father’s girlfriend moves in with them along with her daughter Jenny, Mina is anything but thrilled. She’d love nothing more than to get rid of them both as quickly as possible. One night, Mina discovers that behind her dreams lies a powerful world of its own. There, the dream magicians stage our dreams as if they were plays. Mina wants to take advantage of this and control Jenny’s dreams. But suddenly, Jenny doesn’t wake up at all. Mina must return to save her family.

The visual portrayal of the dream world really stands out: the idea that dreams are staged like elaborate plays is creative and visually impressive. Mina is a strong, likable heroine who certainly makes mistakes, which makes her seem authentic. Alongside the colorful and imaginative moments, the film doesn’t shy away from striking darker and more emotional notes. It’s an exciting, entertaining family film with depth that strongly resembles Hollywood productions like “Inside Out.” (Source: German Film and Media Rating)
