Comedy film by director Fatih Akin
A Hamburg resident of Greek descent gets caught up in a whirlwind of crazy events when his modest restaurant turns into a trendy hotspot. The antics of his gambling-addicted brother, a financial shark, and romantic entanglements dampen his success. A “home comedy” about the search for a sense of belonging in a rapidly changing urban world, focusing less on a specific place and more on being rooted in a community and a way of life. With verve and a keen sense of cinematic space, music, and at times raunchy situational comedy, the film comes together as a harmonious and atmospheric celebration of human solidarity.
