Pure culture and a look behind the scenes
The monastery is once again inviting visitors to its traditional Monastery Night in 2026. The event will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, and promises a varied evening full of culture, history and music.
From 5 pm, admission to the facilities on the monastery grounds is free of charge. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the Mecklenburg Organ Museum, the tower of the monastery church, the art museum and the museum of rarities and curiosities "Kiek in un wunner di". The program is complemented by guided tours of the museums and the monastery ensemble as well as historical school lessons in Low German. The museums are open until 8 pm.
A special highlight of the monastery night is traditionally the musical program in the monastery church. The "queen of instruments", the organ, will be heard in an extraordinary combination with other soundscapes. This year, guests can look forward to a special interplay with alpine horns.
In addition, the inner courtyard invites you to linger in a cozy atmosphere with live music by Moritz Grimm and a campfire.
The Monastery Night combines cultural discoveries, regional history and musical experiences and invites guests from near and far to enjoy an atmospheric summer evening on the historic monastery grounds.
