SAFE THE DATE: June 6 and 7, 2026 at St. Johannis Monastery - a festival for Stralsund residents and guests. Discover hidden gems, enjoy the old and new rose garden, experience cultural performances and get into conversation.
The city's cultural associations have set themselves the goal of preserving Stralsund's UNESCO World Heritage Site and filling it with life. At the former Franciscan monastery of St. Johannis, visitors can take an expert guided tour of otherwise inaccessible areas, stroll through the restored rose garden, enjoy music and culinary delights and, above all, talk to the protagonists of the associations.
The care of the historical substance is not only about the buildings, but also about researching the history.
Suggestions to become active yourself, to pass on what you have seen, to live community - everyone can get involved.
The citizens' committee "Rettet die Altstadt" e.V. is organized together with the Kunstverein Stralsund e.V., the Stralsunder Gästeführerverein 07, the Verein, Marinemuseum Dänholm e.V.,
the Stralsunder Geschichtsverein e.V., the spinners of the zoo, the Literaturkreis Stralsund, the KULT-Touren Die fromme Dagmar, the Stralsunder Traditionsverein mit der Stadtwache and the SWS as well as other partners will organize this festival as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Day.
