a new sound - plucked and bowed with MIRROR STRINGS
Luisa Marie Darvish Ghane - guitar, Johann Jacob Nissen - guitar, Samuel Selle - cello, Phillip Wentrup - cello
A breath of fresh air at last: the unique ensemble MIRROR
STRINGS unites two guitars and two cellos. An incredibly exciting line-up: free from conventions, the well-known Holberg Suite by Edvard Grieg, for example, can be heard in a fascinatingly dynamic and unusual way.
MIRROR STRINGS is innovative and inspiring: composers from all over the world compose especially for the quartet and contribute their own culture, background and personality. So here too: No conventions - from minimal music, rock/pop to contemporary effects and muezzin calls.
Concert engagements have taken MIRROR STRINGS to concert halls, festivals and the
radio (NDR Kultur). The quartet works across genres: their own arrangements and programs create a musically diverse and communicative space. The MIRROR STRINGS' concerts are direct and personal, jumping from great looseness to deep emotionality and finally allowing the concert to become a shared moment for the audience and musicians in classical music too. A source of different styles, personalities and emotions - and an absolutely unique energy!
