Coming-of-age story about four unequal sisters in 19th century America who are looking for their own way.
Jo, Meg, Amy and Beth March grow up with their mother during the American Civil War. Each of the sisters has their own dreams: Jo wants to become a writer, Amy a painter. The film (2019) jumps back and forth between childhood and adulthood and explores the challenges for women of the time to find financial independence and artistic self-realization.
