Public Lecture

In 2010, the interdenominational Gut Saunstorf monastery near the Hanseatic City of Wismar opened its doors. The ruins of the former manor house were painstakingly restored to become a dignified and historically protected site. This evening, we invite you to gain insight into this place—with photos and background information. We’ll gather for this event at our new Café & Deli in Saunstorf.

We will explore the following questions:

• What is a modern monastery?

• What is the history of this place?

• How did the monastery come to be?

• How is the monastery managed?

• Who lives in the monastery?

• What can I learn here?

Speaker

Muni Konradi, who has lived here for over 20 years, will give a talk accompanied by photos depicting the history and present-day atmosphere of this place of tranquility. Afterward, there will be time for questions and discussion.
