Movie Time in Malchow
Miriam moves in with her friend Ida for a few months and attends Winterstein School with her—without realizing that magic is an everyday occurrence there. On her very first day of school, Max is given a wise owl named Muriel, while Miriam is paired with an energetic kobold lemur named Fitzgeraldo. Muriel notices Max’s emotional turmoil over his best friend Leonie. When Ida finds out that the school is set to close, the school competition becomes their one decisive chance.
The film by Maggie Peren and Bernhard Jasper shines with its usual warm, rich colors, detailed sets, and lively music and dance numbers. It tackles serious issues such as bullying and the confusion of first love with empathy.
