Viola, frozen in grief over the death of her twin brother, runs over a cyclist during a German-Polish couples’ seminar, flees the scene, is beaten by her husband, and begins a brief love affair. A paradoxical series of coincidences frees her from her paralysis.

This German-Polish co-production is the work of a director who straddles the worlds of theater and film: Tobias Lenel, a multi-award-winning director with over 75 productions to his credit and many years of experience working in Germany and Poland, combines historical depth with expertise in Slavic studies. Following numerous German-Polish feature films and documentaries—including productions for 3Sat, NDR, and arte—he continues his artistic collaboration between the two countries in this project.
