"Performance: Third Eyelid" by Keta Gavasheli as part of the opening of the group exhibition *Aperture, monitor, field, mouth, language,*
The performance combines text, video, and sound into a fragmentary, performative reading. Drawing on optical instruments, distorted images, refractions of light, and blurriness, Gavasheli explores how perception is shaped by physical experiences and memories.
The performance is connected to Gavasheli’s installation *In the Middle of the Blank Page*, which is also on view in the exhibition. Part of the work is a video filmed through a magnifying glass that translates the physical experience of dizziness and rotational movement into a distorted visual language. The magnifying glass thus becomes a membrane between the camera and physical reality, simultaneously mediating and altering perception.
The performance will be presented in English.
