Sculptures and sculptures meet large-format, colorful graphics: The exhibition unites two independent artistic positions.
New exhibition: Katharina Vogt and Gerd FrickOpening on June 6, 2026
The second major exhibition of the year opens on June 6, 2026. On display will be works by sculptor Katharina Vogt and painter and graphic artist Gerd Frick - two artistic personalities whose diversity and independent expression promise a special interplay.
Katharina Vogt - Between nature, memory and movement
Born in Berlin in 1966, Katharina Vogt studied visual communication in Berlin and Potsdam after completing her basic studies in drawing at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee. She created her first sculptural works with the Berlin sculptor Christine Dewerny. She has been working as a freelance graphic artist and sculptor since 1997 and lives in the Feldberg lake district. Her range of works includes drawings, prints, sculptures and assemblages.
Vogt draws on the wealth of forms found in nature and her immediate environment as well as a sea of events and memories. Her ship works in particular invite reflection: Preserved remnants of past form and function are used to create structures that embody departure and transience, freedom and abandonment in equal measure.
Gerd Frick - color, structure and publicity
Gerd Frick, born in Schwerin in 1948, studied painting at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee under Hans Vent, Dieter Goltzsche and Heinrich Tessier from 1976 to 1981. Since then, he has worked as a freelancer in Neubrandenburg and has repeatedly devoted himself to public art alongside his paintings and graphic works. The exhibition features large-format, colorful prints and paintings - multi-layered prints full of structures and color surfaces.
Dr. Harald Rindstorff, former Minister President of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, once aptly described Frick's work: he stands for colorful, fresh images and always leaves the viewer enough room for their own interpretations.
Works by Gerd Frick were already on display at our museum in 2015. The fact that he is now exhibiting together with Katharina Vogt is thanks to her exhibition application - a happy coincidence that brings together two independent artistic positions.
