The Kunstverein in Schwerin presents the new institutional solo exhibition of the artist Céline Mathieu
ENGhostly
apparitions in Schwerin Castle and the Kunstverein's former existence as an electricity plant: if you look at the space from this perspective, the air is thin and charged. Electricity, currency and curation are juxtaposed and questioned as to what connects them. Residual magnetism remains in a core after the field has been removed - a system that "remembers" its previous state and reacts with a delay.
"Molten", Céline Mathieu's new solo exhibition at the Kunstverein für Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Schwerin, explores what is already there and what is brought in - as a living infrastructure that can resist, absorb and transmit. Material from previous exhibitions at Kunsthall Trondheim (NOR) and Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof (DE) finds its way into this exhibition, linking the exhibitions into a coherent sequence.

Current, currency, and curation are held alongside one another, questioning what it is they have in common. Residual magnetism is left in a core after the field is removed.
