Lena Neudauer

"Today, Lena Neudauer is a much sought-after artist who inspires an international audience with the clarity and power, grace and depth of soul of her violin playing." (Focus)

Lena Neudauer began playing the violin at the age of three, and at the age of 11 she joined Helmut Zehetmair's class at the Mozarteum Salzburg. She attracted international attention when she won the Leopold Mozart Competition in Augsburg at the age of 15. Up to this point, her career sounds similar to that of many other musicians. However, the extraordinary thing about her was the courageous clarity with which she decided as a teenager against embarking on a star career at an early age. "I didn't want to live in hotels at 15 and be on stage all the time," she said. Instead, she pursued her violin lessons and studied with Christoph Poppen, Helmut and Thomas Zehetmair. Her openness and commitment to a wide variety of musical styles has thus continued to develop.

At the age of 26, Lena Neudauer was appointed professor of violin at the Hochschule für Musik Saar and has held a professorship at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München since 2016
