Lecture and talk at the Federal Archives - Stasi Records Archive Schwerin on April 25, 2026
During the 40 years of German division, West Germany, including West Berlin, was a particularly intensive espionage target for the Stasi. The Ministry for State Security recruited German citizens to gather information. It also trained spies in the GDR in order to smuggle them into West Germany.
In his lecture on Saturday, 25 April 2026, Dr. Ronny Heidenreich from the Federal Archives - Stasi Records Archive will address the topic of "Secret Service War in the North - The Stasi and Western Secret Services in the Cold War".
In addition to the lecture, there will be a guided tour of the archive. There is also the opportunity to apply for access to Stasi documents. A valid identity document is required for this.
