IC FALKENBERG

| in concert for the new album "KOMM AN LAND" - acoustic

on Saturday, July 18, 2026

at 20:00

in the nave/ cultural church St. Jakobi Stralsund

IC FALKENBERG plays the program for the current album "KOMM AN LAND", in the minimalist acoustic version. Accompanied only by piano and guitar, he sings his new songs and, of course, his classics.

IC FALKENBERG writes and sings and plays the piano, he rubs up against the big issues and draws them into his real world beyond the party stronghold excesses. And he takes a stand. Over 50 years of stage presence and 28 albums speak for themselves, as does FALKENBERG's musical diversity.

IC FALKENBERG has been on stage since he was ten years old. In the eighties, he was the singer, composer and lyricist of Stern Meissen and helped the band to the most successful time in their history with his hits. He quickly became one of the most successful and popular artists in East Germany in the mid-80s under the stage name IC FALKENBERG and sold over 250,000 copies of each of his first two solo albums during this time.

IC FALKENBERG's concerts are unrepeatable moments, their open-hearted intimacy and touching melancholy interwoven with humorous stories. Despite his challenging themes, he maintains an unobtrusive lightness. He masters the fine line, sounding sensitive but never sentimental.

"... he looks back on a life in which rebellion and self-assertion were always the driving forces and on a career - as exciting and eventful as contemporary history." (Markus Fitsch - mdr kultur)

"Once a teen idol, IC Falkenberg is now an admonisher and intellectual. A transformation in 50 years of music." (Schall music magazine)

"Dreamy sounds of a creative poet: ideal fodder for the feuilleton... the man has enormous linguistic and musical possibilities, he should be heard." (Musikexpress) (Musikexpress)

"Hardly any other German singer writes so abstractly and associatively." (Berliner Zeitung)

A poet who sings here, in pieces that are stylistically as far removed from ordinary rock songs as the moon is from the stars. Falkenberg combines the elegiac mood with the literary aspirations of Leonhard Cohen and Nick Cave. (Mitteldeutsche Zeitung)

"Unimpressed by the rules of the music business, IC Falkenberg delivers multi-layered, atmospherically dense compositions with very clever lyrics that need to be deciphered." (Das Magazin)

"The country needs songs like this." (Süddeutsche Zeitung)
