Reading and talk with Steffen Dobbert

German companies have transferred billions of euros to Russia for gas. The government in Berlin ignored Ukraine's warnings of an attack.

Journalists Steffen Dobbert and Ulrich Thiele document in detail in their book "Nord Stream. How Germany is paying for Putin's war", the journalists document in detail how the German-Russian pipeline project helped finance Putin's war against Ukraine.

Steffen Dobbert will present the book at the Wolhynier Resettlement Museum in Linstow on Friday, February 20, at 5 pm.

In the discussion that follows, we want to ask: How did Russia manage to build up a network in Germany over the decades? Why did Germany ignore warnings from neighboring countries? And what happens next with Nord Stream?

Steffen Dobbert, born in Wismar, has been a writer and editor for DIE ZEIT since 2007. He was awarded the German Reporter Prize in 2017. In 2022, Klett-Cotta published "Ukraine Verstehen: History, Politics and the Struggle for Freedom".

The event will be accompanied by music from Anna Subotiak and Andrii Kordon from the Rostock University of Music and Drama.

A cooperation between Heimatverein Linstow e.V. and Heinrich Böll Foundation MV.
