"90 years of Rundling" - An exhibition by the "1a Klein Plasten" association - Resident's quote: "I like everything here, I would never want to live anywhere else."
90 years - Three generations of Rundling Klein Plasten, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
The WerkHaus is showing the traveling exhibition developed by the association 1a Klein Plasten e.V. 2024 to mark the 90th anniversary of the Rundling.
There were 13 farms in Klein Plasten. The Rundling was created in the 1930s as part of the National Socialist settlement policy in rural areas.
For the first time, a selection of residents are now at the center of interest. They are asked about their history, their experiences in the GDR and their lives today. The interviews are documented in detail in an accompanying brochure. Photographer Wolfgang Borrs was commissioned to take the impressive portraits.
The association 1a Klein Plasten, known for its Plastinale festival, has existed since 2023 and aims to make culture tangible and tangible. And not write about their neighbors, but let them have their say. "As different and sometimes divided as our interviewees were," says the brochure, "when we asked them the question: 'What don't you like so much here?" they all answered without exception: 'I like everything here, I would never want to live anywhere else'.
