Prof. Christian Templin and Christian Schenk
The guest speaker at the 3rd Heiligendamm Dialogue is Prof. Christian Templin, a researcher, cardiologist, and director of the Department of Internal Medicine B at the University Medical Center Greifswald, who will speak about the importance of preventive care and health checkups.
The discussion will focus on how prevention, data, and artificial intelligence are transforming medicine and what truly helps people live healthier, longer lives. The discussion will be moderated by Christian Schenk, the 1988 Olympic decathlon champion, who later worked as a host for ZDF and remains active in sports marketing to this day. A personal conversation in an open atmosphere with room for questions and direct discussion.
Prof. Templin will address an increasingly important topic: preventive care should begin much earlier so that, ideally, diseases can be treated as early as possible, before they manifest. The hype surrounding longevity has both positive and negative effects. Living a healthy—or rather, healthier—life is more popular than ever, and this isn’t just good for the medical industry, as many offerings are often not evidence-based and promise more than they can deliver.
Prof. Templin highlights the potential and importance of early, targeted health checkups and data analysis, which will enable us to lead healthy and fulfilling lives in the future.
Moderator Christian Schenk, a former elite athlete, will host the evening. Both will discuss the latest and most exciting developments in preventive medicine and the Greifswald region.
The Grand Hotel Heiligendamm is planning a future collaboration with Greifswald University Hospital, through which guests will be able to benefit from the hospital’s medical expertise via lectures, individual consultations, and, above all, a comprehensive health check-up.
