On the second weekend of Advent, December 5 and 6, 2026, Zarrentin am Schaalsee invites you to the “Christmas” Monastery Market.
Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere surrounding the historic monastery in Zarrentin am Schaalsee and experience one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in northern Germany. About 80 vendors from all over Germany will present handmade treasures that are sure to make your heart skip a beat: From sparkling tree ornaments and elegant silver and gold jewelry to children’s clothing and high-quality leather goods, as well as ceramics, candles, Christmas arrangements, and delicate glass art. Here you’ll find everything that makes Christmas special.
Extended Program on Saturday Evening
On Saturday, December 5, the festive atmosphere will continue even after the market closes: From 6 to 8 p.m., a band will rock the stage and provide an unforgettable musical finale. The food and beverage stands will remain open until 8 p.m. On Sunday, visitors can enjoy the market from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Parking
The parking lot by the church is available for guests. There are additional parking spots—some of which require a fee (the Parkster app can be used!)—in the town of Zarrentin am Schaalsee.
