The exhibition shows a selection from the extensive oeuvre of the Berlin-born artist Hedwig Holtz-Sommer, who belonged to the third generation of the Ahrenshoop artists' colony.
Having grown up in Dortmund, the artist trained as a fashion tailor and then studied at the University of Fine Arts in Weimar. In the 1930s, she moved to Rostock and finally settled in Wustrow with her husband, the painter Erich Theodor Holtz. The exhibition focuses on the artist's painterly work.
