Leipziger Pfeffermühle Cabaret
The latest stunt from the Leipzig Pfeffermühle’s bag of tricks. We’re in custody. In Laughter. The world is doubled over with laughter—Germany is fun again.
We’re the trailblazers on our warhorses. The state is leading the way, but the citizens can’t keep up anymore. Everyone has an opinion, but no clue. We come up with all sorts of ideas—even our bridges. People used to value the railroad; today, they value travel times.
Email, electric cars, e-egoists. We carry on as if there were no tomorrow. Because it’s not over yet. Citizens sweeten their lives with empty promises. The government is at a loss—the people are listless. Democracy is taking off, and the farmer is hitting the road. The boomers are stepping into the shadows, and the youth don’t have the faintest clue. We’re waiting for the economic miracle and experiencing our own blue moment. Some feel like strangers in their own country; others act as if they’re at home. The chancellor shakes hands; the people shake their heads. Not with us—but with whom, then? Pointless? Quite the opposite. The pepper mill coughs up a bit of the zeitgeist. Because a cough is just laughter stuck in our throats.
HARAKIRI TO GO—a show that turns the crisis into a comic crisis. A dose of humor to cure a headache. Giggles for peace. A joy of performance, musicality, wit, and humor. Young, sassy, and blunt.
