with Rhododendron Queen Jasmin II.
Guided tours through the rhododendron park in the Baltic health spa Graal-Müritz
with rhododendron queen Jasmin II.
Anyone who knows that the Graal-Müritz Rhododendron Park was once created from a sand pit - dug in 1942 to protect the dune from a storm flood - will see the 2,500 shrubs with different eyes. What the garden architect Friedrich-Karl Evert created from 1955 onwards is now one of the largest rhododendron parks in Germany: 4.5 hectares of coastal forest, 70 varieties, listed as a historical monument since 1986.
Rhododendron Queen Jasmin II invites you to really get to know this park - beyond the first "Oh, how beautiful". Where do the plants come from? Why do they feel so at home under old beech trees, within walking distance of the Baltic Sea? What makes the variety specially bred for Graal-Müritz, whose flowers begin in deep purple and end in crimson red, so special?
The guided tours are open to everyone - garden experts and the curious alike, families with children welcome.
