In wind and weather.
Would you like to leave the stuffy four walls behind and capture the unadulterated beauty of nature directly with brush and paint? Our plein-air painting course invites you to discover the landscape of the Heidberg and the Inselsee through the eyes of an artist and capture it in impulsive, lively paintings.
Under the professional guidance of artist Henning Spitzer, you will immerse yourself in the traditional technique of open-air painting. It's not about perfect details, but about the essentials: the direct experience of nature, the play of light, the structure of the trees in autumn and the powerful energy that arises when art and the elements meet.
What you can expect in this workshop:
Introduction to plein air painting: short theoretical introduction to the special features and techniques of painting in the open air.
Working with oil paints: Learn about the properties of this versatile material, which is valued for its brilliant colors and long working time.
Composition in nature: How do you choose a detail, set the scene for a motif and capture mood and atmosphere?
Paint impulsively and expressively: Work quickly and intuitively to bring the fleeting moment - the light, the wind, the weather - to life on canvas.
Individual support: Henning Spitzer will respond to each participant and provide assistance from the sketch to the final brushstroke.
This is included in the price:
You don't need to bring anything except weatherproof clothing!
Who is this course for?
The workshop is suitable for curious beginners with no previous knowledge as well as for advanced students who are looking for a new source of inspiration. The focus is on the joy of experimenting and a love of nature.
