Determine your own stones under expert guidance
Do you collect rocks and don't really know what they are? Geologist Bastian Bruckhoff, our expert on rocks at the Natural History Collections for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, will shed some light on your rocks. But first he will give a basic introduction to rock identification, including exciting exhibits from the Müritzeum's geological collection. You will learn about the most important rock-forming minerals, the characteristics of the rock groups and their formation. With this new knowledge, you will go into the rock consultation hour. Here you will learn how to identify the finds you have brought with you under the supervision of an expert on site.
