Prominent contemporary witnesses, great emotions and the best entertainment
The DDR-Stammtisch promises an extraordinary evening full of memories, emotions and exciting conversations. Top-class guests from the worlds of sport, politics and culture from the former GDR come together and guarantee entertainment at the highest level.
Among them is the two-time Olympic marathon champion Waldemar Cierpinski, whose sporting successes are just as unforgettable as the legendary commentaries of the great sports reporter Heinz Florian Oertel, which will be discussed in detail on this evening.
Musical highlights will be provided by Frank Schöbel, one of Germany's greatest pop singers. The music legend never minces his words in interviews and still fills large halls with his band today.
Things also get politically exciting: Egon Krenz, the last head of state of the GDR, openly confronts the past, demonstrates backbone in dealing with GDR history and is happy to answer the audience's questions.
Another highlight is Täve Schur - cycling idol, public favorite and one of the most popular personalities of the former GDR. Known for his clear opinions, he is anything but soft-spoken.
In the supporting program, visitors will experience Boris Hirschmüller from Berlin, Monika Herz's former guitarist, with the greatest hits of the GDR - a musical retrospective that brings back memories.
The discussion promises to be emotional, funny, but also thought-provoking. Presenter Klaus Härtl actively involves the audience: Visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions themselves, not only during the opening program, but also at the end of the event.
During the interval, an autograph session invites the audience to meet the guests in person and take souvenir photos.
