"The Secret Agent" (2025) celebrated its world premiere in the competition section of the 78th Cannes International Film Festival, where it won four major international awards: two “Golden Palms”—one for Best Actor and one for Best Director—as well as the FIPRESCI Prize from the film critics and the CICAE Prize from independent cinemas. Lead actor Wagner Moura (from “Narcos”) received the Best Actor award in Cannes for his compelling portrayal of Marcelo. Rounding out the stellar cast are Maria Fernanda Cândido (“Il Traditore – Als Kronzeuge gegen die Cosa Nostra”), Gabriel Leone (from the series “Senna”), Hermila Guedes (“O céu de suely”), and Udo Kier (“Melancholia”).
