Medieval tour, Wismar legends, and fall crafts at the museum for after-school groups and individual children on vacation
As it does every year, the City History Museum of the Hanseatic City of Wismar is once again inviting children to participate in its fall 2026 vacation program at SCHABBELL. As the dark season approaches, it’s time once again for the museum to dust off the city’s ancient legends and tales and awaken old ghosts. The museum’s education team welcomes all interested schoolchildren on vacation for a brief journey back in time to medieval Wismar—which, by the way, wasn’t as gloomy as is often claimed. After a short guided tour, however, things do get a bit darker: In the historic vaulted cellar, the groups will then explore the city’s oldest and most famous stories about drum beaters and devil’s grilles.
The vacation program is primarily aimed at children ages 6–12 and is designed for both entire (after-school) groups and individuals. Advance registration is requested.
