Walk through the salt grasslands of the Karrendorf Meadows with the wind in your hair. On this approximately three-hour nature tour, you’ll learn more about the development and significance of the coastal floodplain marsh and its unique biodiversity.
In the fall, bird migration is in full swing. Cranes, in particular, now dominate the landscape. They use the Karrendorf meadows as a roosting site and fly in from the surrounding fields at sunset. Whooper swans and numerous geese can also be observed on their migration south.
The excursion is led by federal volunteers from the Michael Succow Foundation and follows the causeway from the parking lot near Groß Karrendorf to the bridge in front of Koos Island.
Meeting point: Parking lot near Groß Karrendorf at the information board
Duration: approx. 3 hours
Participation: by donation
