In this creative workshop, you will have the opportunity to design your own personal work of art - using a technique that not only looks beautiful, but is also deeply rooted in cultural history: the Sorbian embossing technique.
The embossing technique is an artistic decoration method that originally comes from the Sorbian cultural area - a Slavic minority in Lusatia. It was traditionally used to decorate Easter eggs, but has experienced a creative renaissance in recent years. Craft enthusiasts are now also applying it to other objects.
The term "bossing" comes from the French bossier, which means "to make sublime". This is exactly what happens with this technique: patterns are applied to the surface dot by dot with liquid beeswax - using a needle, a quill or a special tool. This creates raised ornaments, which can be either colored or natural.
