Concert performance with the vocal ensemble VOX NOSTRA (Berlin) and international guest artists
In the "Art from Silence" series, we look forward to the Berlin vocal ensemble Vox Nostra and international guest artists with the concert performance "Expanding Time - Love before you love".
Gregorian chants from the Middle Ages based on texts from the Old and New Testaments are interwoven with Sufi poetry in Arabic that is over 1000 years old, the spherical sounds of little-known stone harps and the earthy tones of a bass flute. The longing breath of the reed flute Ney and oriental ornaments of the Arabic lute Oud accompany Sema, the mystical dance of spinning dervishes. An intimate performance makes the preciousness of water tangible.
The focus is on the love of creation as a common task and spiritual connection between all spiritual paths. A special focus is placed on the historical significance of women. The important mystics Rabi'a of Basra (9th century) and Hildegard of Bingen (12th century) enter into a relationship with their texts and compositions: two great women in a dialog that transcends time and space.
