EXHIBITION OPENING
The exhibition offers a compelling look at education during the Age of Enlightenment—exploring the interplay between morality, everyday life, and new ideas about education. The focus is on Daniel Chodowiecki’s richly detailed copperplate engravings based on the famous “Elementarwerk” by the educational reformer Johann Bernhard Basedow. They show how educational reformers in the 18th century sought to transform teaching—in a vivid, realistic, and surprisingly modern way.
The exhibition, part of the “Das Besondere Format ” series, runs through January 10, 2027.
Meeting point: Foyer on the upper floor
