The finale of the element cycle asks how we deal with the earth - with an element that is also a planet - and therefore our home.
The earth is a corrective, an inspiration, it is home. We come from it, we go to it. Without it, we are lost. Anyone who engages with the earth, with its breathtaking size, its perfectly balanced ecosystem, its almost incomprehensible periods of development - anyone who really gets involved with these dimensions will feel it: We are small. We have everything to learn from it. And we rarely really listen to it.
The Deutsche Tanzkompanie spans the four and a half billion years of its history right up to the most pressing issues of the present day in the conclusion of the Elements cycle. The earth appears as an element as well as a planet. And the evening also dares to double up formally: In collaboration with two choreographers, two independent pieces are created that ask the same questions in different ways:
How must we deal with the earth so that it remains our home? So that we can continue to feel small and, at best, secure in its touching presence? What role do we have to play in its grandiose history? And what is your own answer to these questions?
