"Lots of opinions—not much sense"
Cabaret with the Dresden cabaret troupe "Die Kaktusblüte"
In the new program by the Dresden cabaret troupe “Die Kaktusblüte,” Friedemann Heinrich and Uwe Hänchen, accompanied by their pianist Janka Scheudeck, once again explore the spirit of the times—where high politics and everyday nonsense collide.
Everyone does what they want, no one does what they’re supposed to, but everyone goes along with it—that’s the motto these days, and an opinion is more important than knowledge. Yet cabaret faces stiff competition, as politics keeps trying to outdo it. Nevertheless, cabaret and politics have a lot in common, because, after all, politics is one big theater. Some politicians come across as sad amateurs, while others are excellent actors. The trick for everyone, however, is to keep impressing the public with new productions.
And so this show is just like politics: a wild ride—so that the fun can begin, even if politics itself isn’t providing any.
A cabaret-style sweep with sharp wordplay and musical parodies awaits you.
Join us in exploring new worlds through “disaster tourism,” or follow us on TV as the battle for minds and ratings rages—true to the motto: “Whatever the cost, even if it’s the truth.”
If that’s not enough for you, then whine and complain with us—but please do so at the highest level—when one disaster follows another.
We’ve set aside a special section for our critics, and anyone who wants to protest should think carefully about their slogan beforehand.
Otherwise, resentment, hatred, and envy will take hold—the very emotions celebrated in this program by the “Humbsdorfer Haubenlerchen.”
As always, “Die Kaktusblüte” guarantees traditional cabaret with sharp wordplay and musical parodies—prickly and sharp-tongued, humorous and subtle.
