"Wat Mannslüd seggen, hett nich väl tau bedüden. What they don't say, more people want to hear."
Something is up! Gundula realizes this immediately when she arrives at her good friend Sneiwitt's house. Her husband Lafrenz has actually made a bet with his best friend and womanizer Säutmund. If Säutmund claims that he is irresistible to women, then it must be easy to seduce Sneiwitt and get hold of her stocking as proof. But the two ladies discover this plot and devise a ludicrous counter-plan to get back at the men.
An honest friendship between two women and men in a cockfight show that Balzer's comedy, first performed in Schwerin in 1953, is anything but an "old ham".
