At Rostock Zoo, plants, hands-on activities and a charity duck race for the whole family take center stage on Garden Day.
Rostock Zoo is not only home to lots of animals on 56 hectares, but also some botanical specialties - from the historic oak avenue, the colorful dahlia quarter and the extensive rhododendron grove, to the exotic planting of the tropical hall in the Darwineum. On the Day of the Garden, we want to put the spotlight on precisely this floral splendor. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., great activity stands await you on the Eichenallee to expand your plant knowledge and get active yourself. Together we will make grass heads and seed bombs, paint with natural materials and learn how to propagate peppermint properly. Young and old can put their skills to the test in the wheelbarrow slalom and their knowledge in the plant quiz.
The 1st duck race at Rostock Zoo will also take place on this day - a charity event organized by the Rostock Junior Chamber of Commerce.
