Daniela Danz reads from her poetry collection *Portolan*. Inspired by container ships in the Baltic region, the poetry weaves together open sea routes, history, and mythology.

Inspired by a journey aboard container ships in the Baltic region, her poems weave together the present, history, and mythology into vivid images. Amid cargo ports, open sea lanes, and routes both old and new, a poetic mapping of the world takes shape. The texts explore movement, trade, borderlands, and the traces that people and stories leave behind in landscapes and on maps.

Daniela Danz is a fellow at the Künstlerhaus Lukas in cooperation with the Thuringia Cultural Foundation. Her diverse body of work includes poetry, novels, essays, and libretti. The reading is open to anyone interested in discovering contemporary poetry with a maritime perspective.

This event is part of the Ahrenshoop Literature Days. Discover more readings, discussions, and cultural encounters in the artists’ village of Ahrenshoop—for literature enthusiasts from the region and vacationers on the Baltic Sea.
