GAME TESTERS Wanted! Join the Children’s and Youth Jury!
Through this initiative, the project teaches children and teens how to engage with digital media in an age-appropriate, critical, and creative way. The TOMMI promotes media literacy among young people and highlights their perspectives on digital content. Media literacy is more important than ever in the digital world and is one of the crucial key competencies for future generations.
25 Years of the TOMMI Games Award
The TOMMI Games Award is being presented for the 25th time and is one of the most important awards for digital games and educational offerings for children and teens in the German-speaking world. Publishers, developers, and studios can submit their games and digital educational offerings. An independent panel of experts—comprising educators, researchers, journalists, and education specialists—nominates the best titles. The children’s and youth jury then tests the nominated games in more than 40 public libraries across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and selects the winners in each category.
New partners of the TOMMI Games Award are the Federal Agency for the Protection of Children and Young People in the Media (BzKJ) and klicksafe. The patron is Federal Minister of Education, Family, Senior Citizens, Women, and Youth Karin Prien.
The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. on the KiKA media show “Team Timster,” as well as on kika.de and in the KiKA app.
