A puppet show based on the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen
Christiane, a painter and storyteller, is packing her bags. She has to catch her train right away. She still has just a little bit of time left. So she tells her visitors—young and old—a story that a swallow “chirped” to her.
A little girl, born from a flower—delicate, innocent, and as beautiful as a blossom—is kidnapped by a mother toad who is looking for a girlfriend for her stupid and ugly son. But the toads rejoiced too soon: A butterfly rescues Thumbelina. So, all’s well? No, Thumbelina still has to survive many dangers. But in the end, help comes from an unexpected source: A swallow takes her south—straight toward her happiness.
But now Christiane really has to go. She’s been invited to a wedding. Three guesses as to who’s fallen head over heels in love and will soon be happily married!
