Public Evening Lecture by PhDr. Zbyněk Fišer, PhD (Masaryk University in Brno, Institute of Czech Literature)
This lecture will present the most important trends in research on the publication possibilities for unofficial literature, journalism, scholarship, and art in Czechoslovakia during the communist era. Selected examples will be used to illustrate the various forms of samizdat. The focus is on periodicals and publications from Moravia in the 1980s.
Zbyněk Fišer is a lecturer at the Institute of Czech Literature at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno (Czech Republic). In addition to contemporary Czech literature, he focuses on the theory and pedagogy of creative writing and translation studies. He has published the monographs *Tvůrčí psaní* (2001, *Creative Writing*) and *Překlad jako kreativní proces* (2009, *Translation as a Creative Process*). He also publishes poetry (Někde za Truchlovem [Somewhere Beyond Truchlov], 2014; Kikikarantkatr aneb Gazanie 2030, 2022).
