Are the Lights On… A Christmas Show with Ronny Weiland
"Are the Lights Lit…?"—that’s the title of Ronny Weiland’s Christmas program. Many people are surely familiar with the title “Are the Lights Lit?” from the Leipzig Radio Children’s Choir. Hans Sandig set Erika Engel’s poem to music; it ends with the words “May there be peace everywhere.”
Candlelight is undoubtedly as much a part of the Christmas season as the Christmas tree and the ringing of bells. All of this is, of course, celebrated in the most beautiful traditional Christmas carols. Visitors can look forward to a two-part concert program—contemplative yet joyful—just as Christmas should be!
The first part will feature “Grand Emotions” with pieces such as “The Moldau,” “Praying Hands,” and “Give Something Back to Your Parents,” before Ronny invites the audience in the second part to listen to, dream along with, and even sing along to Christmas carols. His warm singing voice is perfectly suited for interpreting Christmas songs, and this time, too, he’s sure to move the audience.
Ronny Weiland never fails to captivate and delight his audience. The loyalty and gratitude of his ever-growing fan base are proof of that! During a TV appearance, Stefan Mross introduced Ronny as “one of Germany’s best voices.”
And this voice invites you to “Sind die Lichter angezündet” to get you in the mood for the most contemplative time of the year, when bells ring sweetly in the still night and snow falls softly, while the little drummer boy waits for the Christ Child.
