On September 19, 2026, at 7 p.m., the OPUS 45 ensemble will present a concert-reading featuring actor Roman Knižka in the Brigitte-Feldtmann Hall at the Schwerin Conservatory. The artists will shed light on the dramatic final phase of Germany’s first democracy.

On September 19, 2026, at 7 p.m., the OPUS 45 ensemble will present a concert-reading with actor Roman Knižka in the Brigitte-Feldtmann Hall at the Schwerin Conservatory. The artists will shed light on the dramatic final phase of Germany’s first democracy. Under the title “Germany, Can’t You See?”—inspired by a warning from Kurt Tucholsky—the performance creates an intimate, literary portrait of the years 1929 through 1933. Roman Knižka lends an unmistakable presence to texts by authors such as Erich Kästner, Mascha Kaléko, and Viktor Klemperer. Accompanied by a top-notch wind quintet, the performance weaves a fitting soundtrack from works by Hanns Eisler, Kurt Weill, as well as contemporary swing and pop songs.
