“A Musical Journey Through Time—900 Years of Music in Europe, from Minnesang to Folk”
In accordance with the mission of the organizers—the “Jung & alt” Association in Crivitz e.V. and its partner, the “Wort und Klang” Music and Culture Association Mecklenburg e.V.—to significantly revitalize cultural life through a diverse range of cultural events, with the aim of familiarizing local people of different generations with their cultural heritage—the 1st Crivitz Music Summer, which began in early May, will continue with another concert on Saturday, July 4, at 7:00 p.m. on Burgplatz (Friedensglocke).
Admission to the concert—dedicated above all to the audience and residents of the region between Schwerin, Sternberg, Goldberg, Parchim, and Neustadt-Glewe—is free. Attractive and interesting cultural events should be affordable for residents, especially in times of financial hardship. The organizers, performers, and sponsors are enthusiastically committed to making this a reality.
In the 7:00 p.m. concert, the musicians of the SONORO CONSORT ensemble from the Schwerin region will present musical rarities ranging from minnesang to the 20th century under the theme “A Musical Journey Through Time—900 Years of Music from Minnesang to Folk in Europe.” The narrated concert program—which is also dedicated to the upcoming 775th anniversary of the town of Crivitz in 2027, rarely heard works from European music history as well as Celtic, Nordic, and Slavonic folk music will be performed on historical instruments such as the recorder, gemshorn, lute, and nyckelharpa.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Donations and contributions to help cover expenses are gratefully accepted.
