A lecture on flowering meadows and their benefits with examples from Waren (Müritz)
Global challenges, such as the current extinction of species and insects, often seem like insurmountable problems that individuals cannot do anything about anyway. But the opposite is true: anyone can create a small corner of their own garden or backyard as a flowering meadow, for example, and provide butterflies, bees and other insects with an important source of food and shelter. Gordon Käbelmann will explain what other advantages flowering meadows offer and what you should look out for when planting them in his lecture: "Colorful insect meadow or all weeds?" on 6 May at 6.30 pm.
This lecture is part of the accompanying program for the new label "Stadtgrün naturnah" of the city of Waren (Müritz) and is presented in cooperation with BUND and the city of Waren.
Annika Anders from the Office for Construction, Environment and Economic Development of the City of Waren will supplement the lecture with examples of successful projects that have already been implemented in the city. In this way, the ideas and possibilities presented by Mr. Käbelmann will be backed up with concrete practical examples. Join us and perhaps you will also have ideas for the town of Waren to become even greener.
The Müritzeum invites all interested parties to get in the mood for the new gardening season with this lecture evening.
As always, admission is free, but the NatureExperienceCenter is happy to receive a donation.
