1923: Franz Kafka and Dora Diamant meet by chance in Graal-Müritz on the Baltic Sea beach. He is a man of the world, she is a trained kindergarten teacher; he can write, she can dance. She has both feet firmly on the ground, he is always hovering a little above it. She embraces the indicative, he gets tangled up in the subjunctive. But when the two get to know each other, all differences become irrelevant. They are granted a single year until Franz Kafka dies at the age of 40. Even though Kafka's health deteriorates more and more, the year they spend together makes them both feel the glory of life.
Love against all odds - this is how one could summarize the premise of "The Glory of Life". Based on the bestseller of the same name by Michael Kumpfmüller, it tells the touching story of Franz Kafka and Dora Diamant's great love.
"After this movie you will see Franz Kafka with different eyes." cinema
