Films from all over Europe - from France, Poland and Germany to Turkey - competing for the prizes
From October 7 to 9, 2026, dokumentART will showcase the diversity of European short films in its competition. Look forward to 50 extraordinary documentaries, feature films, and animated films from 20 European countries—from Portugal to Finland, from France to Poland, and many other regions of Europe.
The films in the competition address pressing issues of our time: the relationship between humans and nature, climate change, identity and memory, the future of work, truth and artificial intelligence, community and solidarity, as well as personal stories, values, and relationships. They offer perspectives on social developments in Europe, highlight contradictions, and tell the stories of the experiences, hopes, and challenges of the people behind the headlines. dokumentART views film as a starting point for encounter and dialogue—across national borders, generations, and life experiences. Each program lasts approximately 65 to 85 minutes.
After each screening, you’ll have the opportunity to meet filmmakers, ask questions, and engage directly with the artists.
During intermissions, the festival bar invites you to linger, exchange ideas, and socialize—accompanied by small artistic surprises and live music.
